News: Cubby’s Ice Cream Café Welcomes New Owner in Hummelstown

A new chapter is unfolding at Cubby’s Ice Cream Café in Hummelstown as the business transitions to new ownership. On November 26, the café will be taken over by Jonathan Sartini, a local resident with extensive experience in the restaurant and dessert industry, including a background in management at Hershey’s Chocolate World. Sartini plans to continue the café’s tradition of offering high-quality ice cream and fostering a welcoming community space.

The café, originally opened in 2021, has become a cherished spot in Hummelstown. Founded as a passion project during the pandemic, it quickly gained a loyal following for its creamy scoops sourced from Beck’s, a family-run ice cream maker based in York. Known for its rich butterfat content, Beck’s ice cream is available by the scoop or transformed into sundaes and milkshakes.

Under its new leadership, Cubby’s is expected to maintain its role as a beloved gathering place for the local community while continuing to deliver the sweet treats that have made it so popular. Located at 295 E Main St., Hummelstown, the café is open from 2-9 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, and remains a must-visit destination for ice cream lovers in the area.
