Yokl, Inc. ("Yokl," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Yokl customer loyalty platform, including the Yokl mobile app, the shopyokl.com website, and related services (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

The Service has two kinds of users:

Supporters - customers who earn "Yokens" at participating local merchants and redeem them for gift vouchers.

Merchants - local businesses that participate in the Yokl loyalty program.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

Account and contact details - your name and mobile phone number when you sign up or opt in.

Merchant details (for business accounts) - business name, contact person, business address, and related information needed to set up and run a merchant account.

Messages and support requests - the content of messages you send us through the chat widget, SMS, email, or in-app support.

Information created as you use the Service

Loyalty activity - your Yoken balance and your transaction and redemption history (Yokens earned, vouchers redeemed, and the merchants and locations involved).

Location data - if you use proximity check-in, we use your device's geolocation to confirm you are at or near a participating merchant. We only use precise location for check-in when your device permits it, and you can turn off location access in your device settings (some check-in features may not work if you do).

Device and usage data - basic technical information such as device type, app version, and general usage events that help us operate and improve the Service.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal information (such as government ID numbers, health data, or precise financial account numbers). Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processor and are not stored on our systems - see Section 4.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Create and manage your Supporter or Merchant account.

Track Yoken balances, process earning and redemption of Yokens, and issue gift vouchers.

Verify proximity check-ins at participating merchants.

Send you account and service messages, including a sign-in / magic-link text when you log in (see Section 3).

Send you promotional messages about offers, rewards, and program news if you have opted in to marketing messages (see Section 3).

Provide customer support and respond to your requests.

Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical or security issues.

Improve and develop the Service.

Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. SMS / Text Messaging

The Yokl SMS program is a mixed messaging program that includes both account-related (transactional) messages and promotional (marketing) messages.

Types of messages you may receive

Account messages - for example, a sign-in / magic-link code or link to log in to your account, confirmations, and other messages about your account or transactions.

Promotional messages - offers, rewards, and news about the Yokl program, which you receive only if you opt in to marketing messages.

Program details and your choices

Message frequency varies depending on how you use the Service and your activity.

Message and data rates may apply. These are charged by your mobile carrier, not by Yokl.

To opt out, reply STOP to any Yokl text message at any time. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and we will stop sending you SMS messages (other than any legally required or transactional confirmation of the opt-out itself). Opting out of promotional texts does not by itself close your account; if you also want to stop essential account texts such as sign-in codes, you may need to use another sign-in method or contact us.

Consent is not a condition of purchase. You do not have to agree to receive promotional text messages in order to use the Service, earn or redeem Yokens, or make any purchase.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How we obtain consent. You provide your mobile number and consent to receive messages through our sign-up form or our chat widget (powered by GoHighLevel / LeadConnector). We keep a record of your opt-in.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers (subprocessors). We share information with trusted companies that perform services for us so we can operate the Service. These include:

GoHighLevel / LeadConnector - customer relationship management (CRM), SMS opt-in capture, and sign-up webhook processing.

Twilio - delivery of SMS text messages.

Stripe - payment processing. Your payment card details are provided directly to Stripe and are handled under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy; we do not store full card numbers.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) - cloud hosting and storage of the Service and its data.

These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for Yokl and are required to protect it. They are not permitted to use it for their own independent purposes.

Merchants. When you earn or redeem Yokens at a participating merchant, we share the information needed to complete and record that transaction (for example, the transaction and the reward involved) with that merchant so the loyalty program can function.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Business transfers. If Yokl is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Mobile numbers and SMS consent - no sharing for third-party marketing

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in / consent information with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile number and consent information are shared only with the service providers (subprocessors, such as our CRM and SMS delivery providers) that we use solely to operate the Yokl messaging program on our behalf, and those providers may not use this information for their own purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing, and no such information is sold.

5. Cookies and Analytics

The shopyokl.com website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Our mobile app may collect basic usage and diagnostic data for the same reasons.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the website work. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you across unrelated third-party websites.

6. Data Retention

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

Access - request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Correction - ask us to correct inaccurate information.

Deletion - ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.

Opt out of marketing - reply STOP to any promotional text, or contact us to update your preferences.

Location controls - turn off location access in your device settings at any time.
