News: PA restaurants considered among the best new spots in America

(WHTM) — Time to take a road trip and make sure you bring your appetite because two new Pennsylvania restaurants have made a list of the top eateries in the country.

Making Esquire’s list of “The Best New Restaurants in America, 2024,” were two places in Philadelphia, Amy’s Pastelillos and Bastia.

Founded by Puerto Rican Amaryllis Nassar, who is reportedly the youngest out of five siblings, Amy’s Pastelillos, located at 2001 Memphis St., sells pastelitos, which are Cuban pastries with a filling. They are open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In the mood for Mediterranean food? Well, check out Bastia, located at 1401 E Susquehanna Ave. in the Fishtown’s Hotel Anna & Bel. They reportedly also have grilled lobsters, braised veal and grass-fed steak.
