Hershey Rotary Spotlights Hbg River Rescue & Hershey Area Playhouse

Last week, we missed our post, but with Valentine's Day just behind us, it's the perfect time to spread extra appreciation! ❤️
Only 10 weeks remain until the Hershey Rotary Club highlights the incredible local organizations that received grants from the $30,000 raised at our 2024 Annual Dinner & Auction. We are truly inspired by these organizations that make a meaningful impact in our community.
This week, we are proud to spotlight Harrisburg River Rescue and Hershey Area Playhouse for their dedication and service. Stay tuned as we continue to showcase more amazing organizations in the coming weeks.
Harrisburg River Rescue and Emergency Services
The organization was formed in 1959 and is composed of an all volunteer crew. Harrisburg River Rescue provides water safety education and training to the community. Harrisburg River Rescue responds to emergencies on the water including rescues at the Dock Street Dam, boaters in distress, stranded motorists and ice rescue. The Harrisburg River Rescue has a dive team that responds to and assists with rescue operations, underwater criminal investigations, forensic recovery and provides law enforcement diver training. Harrisburg River Rescue responds to an average of 50 emergency calls each year.

Hershey Area Playhouse
The Hershey Area Playhouse opened on the grounds of Country Meadows in 2007. The Hershey Area Playhouse offers theater
productions as well as theater education programs for adults and children. Ticket sales from the productions do not cover expenses, as a result, the Hershey Area Playhouse relies on contributions from those who understand the value of having a community theater in Hershey, PA.
