There's Room for You at the Table

When you create a safe space for others to feel worthy, something incredible happens: they begin to believe they belong. And when a person believes she belongs, she’s unstoppable—not just for herself, but for her entire community.

Autor and speaker Cara Alwill Layba once said, “The only difference between the women you see on the stage and the women in the audience is that the women on stage just started sooner. And they stuck with it. That’s it. No special DNA. No secret club. No gatekeepers. Just action and consistency.”

In her book Girl on Fire, Cara captures this so well: “The successful people you know… they aren’t better than you. They just got started earlier and stayed with it.” It’s not a competition. It’s a sisterhood.

That leads me to three obvious key truths:

  1. Start.

Get off the sidelines. There’s never a perfect time, and you don’t need all the answers. You just need to begin. The blog, the business, the big idea—it’s waiting for you to stop doubting and start doing.

  1. Keep with it.

Most people quit too soon. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep adjusting. You don’t have to get it right the first time. You just have to keep going.

  1. Collaborate.

Think about the people you secretly compete with in business. Now ask: how does competing with her serve you? What would it feel like to release that need to compare? What if you reached out, lifted her up, shared your insights—and built your business around collaboration instead of rivalry?

There’s room for all of us. In fact, when you rise, you make space for others to rise with you.
