Glow Cardio Drumming
Looking to support fitness in Sun Country?
Look no further than Love2BeeFit, a local group aiming to provide fun, accessible fitness to the community.
The organization will host its annual fundraiser on Saturday, March 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Nye Elementary School, 200 S. John St, Hummelstown, and it’s sure to be a fun evening.
The event will feature glow cardio drumming under blacklights, raffle baskets, glow face paint, temporary glow tattoos and, of course, photos from before and after the fun.
The fundraiser supports Love2BeeFit’s Superstars program, which provides free fitness classes twice a month to participants with a wide variety of experience levels.
Love2BeeFit was created in 2023 by Jeff Still, Natausha Bulgrien and Molly McDonald. At the time, the trio had already been teaching together.
Traveling back to 2012, Still founded a program called All Activities Zumba after seeing “a need for an inclusive exercise class within our community.” Bulgrien joined him shortly after, and that class evolved into the Superstars group of Love2BeeFit.
“Superstars has grown and evolved but still retains some of the original participants who started at the beginning,” Still said.
Fitness is certainly important, but what sets Love- 2BeeFit apart from other exercise groups?
This organization emphasizes the importance of both physical and mental wellness and accessibility. It offers weekly cardio drumming and Zumba classes and recently offered a six-week kids drumming program.
“Keeping your body moving is important, which is something most people know, but making it fun and getting to know our participants personally helps to keep people on track to their goals,” Still said.
Classes are held Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the South Hanover Township building, 161 Patriot Way, Hershey. Monday’s cardio drumming is held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday’s Zumba is held at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday’s cardio drumming is held at 5 p.m. These classes are $5 to drop in.
The Superstars group meets for free classes on the first and third Sundays of the month. These classes are also held in the South Hanover Township building and begin at 4 p.m.
Still emphasized that “Superstars classes are geared to be accessible to all ages, needs and abilities,” and that is what makes it so important to the community.
All proceeds from the March 1 fundraiser will go towards continuing to provide the community with free fitness classes for the Superstars group and other free activities throughout the year.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. for the fundraiser, so participants can get signed in and ready to drum. The suggested donation is $25.
The festivities will take place in Nye Elementary’s cafeteria, and there will be built-in breaks during the event.
