We took the Mid-day Magic Tour, and started at the Fresh Market, a locals farmers' market. Here we sampled food and beverages from Owl Hill Provisions, Midstate Distillery, MKT Tacos, S Clive Weaver, and Seasons. My favorite was the delectable meatball sample from Owl Hill Provisions, and the chef even shared his secret ingredient!
I'm not a bourbon drinker, but the taste of bourbon at Midstate Distillery went down smooooooth and warmed my throat! The smoked bologna and cheeses from S Clive Weaver were just the savory bites we needed to balance the sweet empanadas from MKT Tacos. Finally, I wouldn't have expected to sample olive oil, but sample it we did...at Seasons...and it was excellent! Who knew there were so many different flavors of olive oil?Next, the trolley took us to nearby Hummelstown, where we continued our sugar high with Chocolates by Tina Marie and Cubby's Ice Cream. We expected nothing less in Hershey, PA!
Through it all, Eileen was attentive to our needs and offered delightful commentary and history about the areas we visited and passed through on our ride. That's what makes food tours so much fun...learning about an area while sampling food from local vendors. It's a great way to support and publicize the local economy. We highly recommend this food tour!
Eileen crafted a beautifully curated tour that highlighted some of our area’s most treasured historic buildings and long-standing local businesses. Her passion for community, storytelling, and local history truly shines through in every detail. While we were busy in the kitchen preparing the tea experience, guests enjoyed a fun round of trivia hosted by Eileen and pertaining to the historic tour—an engaging touch that kept everyone smiling and entertained.T
his collaboration between our two small businesses was seamless, professional, and genuinely enjoyable. We’re so grateful for the energy, creativity, and care that Eileen, Lulu the Trolley, and her wonderful team brought to the day.
We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to work together. Highly, highly recommend Yokl for anyone looking to add something special, meaningful, and memorable to their event!
Eileen and her husband took us on a wonderful tour of select Hershey eateries. They included: Parkside Hotel, Owl Hill, MKT tacos, Grove's Homemade candy, The Mill, and The Chocolate Avenue Grill.
The info, guidance, local historical culture, quality, and quantity could not be beat! There was a nicely diverse selection of feel-good foods that almost everyone would enjoy. If you're a local or just here for a bit, this is a great way to get acquainted with some of the local restaurants. You will love this food tour.
Eileen provided an unexpectedly awesome tour! It was an intimate experience, getting a behind the curtain peak at some of our favorite locations. She is passionate about showcasing fantastic establishments that contribute and give back to the local community.
I would highly recommend going on a Yokl tour, even if you are familiar with the area. Really opened our eyes.
We did an afternoon Yokl tour this past weekend and had a wonderful time! Eileen is a fantastic hostess, and Bob was a terrific trolley driver.
A Yokl tour is perfect for everyone. We are locals and learned the story of different places in our community. The other groups on our tour also included a bridal party and a family from out of state.
If you're thinking about doing a Yokl tour, do it! You won't regret it. Whether you're a local, a visitor, or it's a special occasion, you will have a fabulous time supporting local. :)
The tour started at the Hershey History Center, where we met our wonderful guide, Eileen, the owner of Yokl. She was not only knowledgeable but also brought so much fun energy to the experience. Throughout the tour, she gave us fascinating insights into the history of Hershey, and at each stop, we were treated to a special presentation from the owner or manager of the featured business. This personal touch really made the tour feel like a community affair.
The food stops were phenomenal! We began at Parksisde Hotel, where we indulged in incredible pit beef sandwiches and crispy wings—what a way to kick things off! From there, we made our way to Fresh Market, a charming little spot with a variety of local vendors. We stopped at Owl Hill for mouthwatering meatballs and then ventured to MKT Tacos, where we enjoyed street tacos and horchata. Each stop was uniquely Hershey, showcasing the rich diversity and spirit of the town.
We continued our culinary journey with some delicious peanut brittle at Groves, and then made our way to The Mill for an amazing dinner featuring brisket nachos and house-made hummus. The presentation was absolutely stunning, and every dish was packed with flavor. The grand finale was at Chocolate Avenue Grill, where we were treated to the most heavenly peanut butter pie ever—truly to die for!
What truly sets this tour apart is not just the incredible food but the sense of community and connection with local business owners. Each stop felt like an intimate experience, and you could tell these small businesses are a treasured part of the Hershey community.
This food tour is a 10/10 experience—whether you're a foodie, a local, or just visiting Hershey, this tour will give you a taste of the town like no other. The combination of amazing food, great people, and a knowledgeable, fun guide like Eileen made this an evening to remember.
