At Hoageez, we specialize in award-winning, fresh-sliced-to-order hoagies, served on authentic rolls delivered daily from a bakery in Philadelphia (now New Jersey). We’re all about quality and freshness—once we run out of rolls for the day, we’re done!

Our family always loved taking weekend trips to Philadelphia, exploring the city and, of course, stopping at amazing delis. But we realized something—there wasn’t a true Philly-style deli in our area. That sparked an idea: Why not bring that same quality and experience to our hometown?

Neither of us had a background in the food industry—Mike was an entrepreneur with businesses in finance, electronics, and mortgages, and Linda was a teacher. But we loved the idea of creating something special for our community. So, after years of bringing back hoagie rolls and meats from Philly to make sandwiches at home, we finally said, Let’s do it!

Opening Day in 2012: We missed a newspaper deadline to announce our launch and thought no one would know we were open. Instead, we sold out on our first day!

Expanding to a second location in 2020: We opened in Lemoyne just before the pandemic hit. It was a success, but in 2023, we made the tough decision to close to focus on family.

Shianne joining the family business: Our youngest daughter decided to skip college and work full-time at Hoageez—she loves it, and we love working as a family.

Family: We started this business to have more time together, and that’s still our biggest motivation.

Community: Over the years, our customers have become friends, and we love being a part of their lives.

Quality: We’re picky about what we serve—every ingredient, every roll, and every sandwich has to be just right.

It’s not just the fresh rolls, the house-made hoagie dressing, or the premium meats—it’s the experience. We’ve built a place where people feel at home, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Running a business while caring for family was one of our biggest challenges. In 2023, when Mike’s father needed heart surgery and our mothers needed extra care, we had to make a choice: keep growing or step back. We chose family first and closed our second location. It was a difficult decision, but looking back, it was the right one.

If you have a passion, go for it. Understand that it takes a lot of work. Dreams don’t come to life without real effort, and you have to be willing to persevere through various types of challenges.

We love supporting Little Leagues, local schools, and community events. Giving back is part of who we are.

Linda was a 6th-grade teacher before Hoageez! Also, we had zero experience with deli slicers before opening—our first time using one was just a week before launch!
