What does your business do?

We’re a high-end bakery in Hershey that offers a wide range of desserts, coffee, drinks, and savory treats.

Why did you start your business?

It’s a family business for me. I grew up around it, worked here on and off for years, and came on full time in 2019. The bakery itself opened in 2012 after my parents, Jim and Cindy, found real success selling desserts at previous businesses.

What are some key moments in your journey?

Looking back, the biggest moments in our journey have been about people. Building a team of employees who are genuinely great to work with has been huge for us. We have a fantastic crew, and getting to know our regular customers over the years has been one of the most important parts of our success.

What drives you?

I love creating enjoyable & memorable experiences for people. I love the idea that something we make can brighten someone’s day. That’s the whole point for me.

What are your core values or passions?

One of the values I try to live by here is to always go above and beyond, even if it seems like no one will notice. Those small things add up and shape the bigger picture. They matter more than people realize.

What major obstacle have you faced since you started?

The hardest stretch we’ve faced since I started working full time was during COVID. Every business dealt with restrictions, and we were no different. We had to remove seating for a while and completely rethink the flow of how customers came in and out. We shifted to more of a quick counter setup and made sure people felt comfortable walking through our doors. It wasn’t easy, but we adapted, and people kept coming back. In a lot of ways, that period made us stronger.

What advice would you give others looking to start business?

If you have a passion, go for it. Understand that it takes a lot of work. Dreams don’t come to life without real effort, and you have to be willing to persevere through various types of challenges.

Do you have a favorite quote or motto?

One quote that sticks with me is, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts,” by Winston Churchill.

Are there any community projects you are passionate about?

We donate regularly to Caring Cupboard in Palmyra, especially when we have extra food that can go to good use. It matters to us that nothing goes to waste and that we’re supporting people who need it.

Is there something interesting about you we might not guess?

Something people might not guess about me is that I love being outdoors. Gardening, running, and skiing are some of my favorite activities, but anything that gets me outside is where I’m happiest.
