Speciality: Personalized, hometown pharmacy care
We’re a pharmacy and gift shop
Peg: My late husband, Kris, was a hospital pharmacist who got tired of the red tape. We wanted to build something special where we could take care of people. In 1997, we bought a small pharmacy that was going out of business, knocked down some walls (literally), and turned it into a place that felt personal.
Jen: I grew up watching my parents work side by side in the store. Pharmacy has always been a part of my life. I knew from seventh grade on that I wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps.
Peg: Competing with big box pharmacies has always been hard. They can afford to lose money on certain products— we can’t. Sometimes we just can’t fill a prescription without taking a huge loss. So we do our best to balance things, and we hope our customers stick with us for the things we can do better.
Peg: One of the biggest moments was expanding into the gift side. We knocked out walls and opened up new space. It was me, a friend who looked like Mr. Clean, and a whole lot of determination. Every step has been about making the store more welcoming.
Jen: After Dad passed, taking on leadership was a huge transition. It was hard — personally and professionally. But as my brother and I moved into our new roles, we felt like we were doing something he’d be proud of.
Morgan: I’ve been counting Skittles on pharmacy trays since I was three! I loved pretending I was filling prescriptions just like my mom and grandpa. Now I get to do some of the real stuff, like at the register— and that’s pretty cool.
Peg: Think hard — because it’s a lot more than people realize. There are hidden costs, endless forms, financial ups and downs. But if your heart’s in it, and you’re willing to put in the work, it can be incredibly rewarding.
Jen: Be prepared to wear every hat — and then some. And know that what people see on the surface is just a fraction of what it takes to make a business work.
Jen: “Everything happens for a reason.” We say it a lot in our family. It helps us through the tough stuff — even when we don’t understand it yet.
Morgan: That’s my favorite quote too. I say it all the time!
Peg: Mine’s simpler: Take care of people. That’s been my personal and professional mantra for over 30 years.
Jen: We donate when we can — sports teams, school events, mini-THON, church bulletins — but we have to balance that with staying sustainable. My corporate director and I talk through each request, and we try to support causes where we know it’ll make a difference.
Peg: Taking care of people. I’ve known generations of customers. We’ve shared joy, grief, and everything in between. That connection is everything.
Jen: My dad’s legacy drives me. He worked so hard to build this place. I want to keep it going — not just for him, but for our family and the people we serve.
Morgan: I just love being here. I love the people, I love helping out, and I want to keep the business going because it makes me happy — and I know it would make my grandpa proud.
Peg: I crochet. A lot. Baby blankets, lap throws, gifts — each one has a little magic in it.
Morgan: I actually love working — I’d rather be here than doing a lot of other stuff. Especially if it means being on the register and helping customers.
