At the January meeting of the Hershey Rotary Club, Middletown Area High School Principal
David Frey had the honor of recognizing Sean Stott and Cassidy Pomraning as the school’s
Students of the Month. Frey shared stories that showcased these students’ unique personalities
and contributions to the school community.
Sean Stott: A Creative Visionary with Deep Roots
Sean Stott, a senior at Middletown Area High School, brings creativity and enthusiasm to
everything he does. A highlight of the year was Sean’s win in the school’s Halloween
Hootenanny costume fashion show, where he embraced the Halloween spirit with full
commitment.
With deep family ties to Middletown (his grandfather was a teacher and counselor and his
parents students at MAHS), Sean shared his love for his school’s English classes and expressed
gratitude to his teachers, including Mr. McCain, his video production teacher. After graduation,
Sean plans to take a gap year to explore career options in film and art, potentially attending the
Central Pennsylvania Film Commission before pursuing college. “I’d like to thank the Rotary,
my parents, my friends, and all of my teachers for their support,” Sean said.
Cassidy Pomraning: A Model of Quiet Dedication
Although Cassidy Pomraning was unable to attend the meeting due to illness, Principal Frey
spoke highly of her. “Cassidy is a fantastic kid,” he shared, emphasizing her calm demeanor and
excellence in all areas. While Sean’s response to being named Student of the Month was
enthusiastic, Cassidy’s reaction was more reserved—characteristic of her thoughtful and
composed nature.
Honoring Student Excellence
Principal Frey highlighted how these recognitions reflect the positive culture at Middletown Area
High School. “It’s an opportunity to honor some of the coolest kids we get to work with,” he
said. Both Sean and Cassidy exemplify the values of their school and community.
