February 1, 1915 - Hershey Public Library, founded in 1912, moves to the first floor of the Hershey Central Theater Building (McKinley Building). The HHC has the iconic brownstone finial, in the shape of a ball, on display in the museum. When the McKinley school was raised to make room for the Hershey Theater a local worker purchased the finial and it became a treasured garden statue. The item was donated to the HHC by the original owner’s granddaughter in 2013.
